The challenge for Yas Marina was twofold: first, to create an incredibly accurate, high-fidelity replica of the sprawling complex without relying on time-consuming traditional surveying methods; and second, to ensure this digital asset wasn't just a static 3D model, but a dynamic, real-time environment capable of supporting interactive consumer applications and complex backend simulations.
In strategic partnership with Landvault, we developed a highly scalable, interactive digital replica of the track. Our approach focused on agility, high-fidelity rendering, and gamification. Bypassing traditional, resource-heavy scanning methods, we successfully constructed a highly accurate digital replica of the circuit using strictly photographic data.
The immediate deployment of the digital twin was a massive success in audience activation. The pre-Grand Prix mini-game generated over 30,000 active sessions, successfully driving intense fan engagement, capturing valuable user data, and building hype ahead of the physical event.
More importantly, this project established a powerful proof-of-concept for Yas Marina's long-term digital strategy. By successfully treating their physical infrastructure as a digital product, Yas Marina has established the foundational layer for their ongoing digital transformation and is actively developing advanced operational use cases to bring the digital twin further to life.
